Fishing the Lower Laguna Madre Bay

M&M Charters of South Texas provides private customized fishing trips for all levels of anglers. Families with children are welcome. Special rates are offered in the winter. Captain Mahl will customize the trip to fit your needs. Trips are available for a half day or a full day. Equipment is furnished as well as ice, fish cleaning, and packaging. Enjoy fishing shallow in a new 18-ft Majek boat powered by a Yamaha motor.

We target many species including flounder, speckled trout and the famous, hard-fighting redfish. Be ready for light tackle battles on the pristine Lower Laguna Madre. Expect to catch your limit in the time allotted for the trip.

With advanced booking, trips can be arranged for company outings or large family gatherings. Up to 17 people may be accommodated. Offshore trips are also available April through October.

Michael Mahl has been fishing the lower Laguna Madre Bay for over fifteen years. This experience gives him first hand knowledge of when and where to catch fish. He will work hard to make your South Texas fishing trip a memorable one.

Directions to Laguna Vista Marina
from South Padre Island

Go back over the Queen Isabella Causeway and through Port Isabel, then you go through the little community of Laguna Heights. There will be an open area, then you will see a walled development on your right that ends at a stop light.

Take a right at the light and you will be in Laguna Vista; about a 1/2 of a mile you will see a little store on your left (the only store in town). Take the first right after the store...you will be turning at the city hall/police station.

Go one block, cross the street, and then straight down into the marina...it has a chain link fence around mostly parking area and the gate will be open.
